2020 has been a trying year for my eCommerce business. After more than seven years of selling online, I was faced with the real possibility that I would have to shut down for good. Supplier and postal slowdowns forced me to suspend all my online shops in April. My business design was made-to-order and there was no way to deliver a decent customer service experience with the uncontrollable delays. Over the months, it became a balancing act between staying motivated and not giving in to despair. However, several local opportunities emerged to keep me afloat.
Towards the end of June, I began re-opening my Etsy shops. There are all now open again (three). My main selling venue, my standalone, is still closed and a work-in-progress. This is where I want to pivot into selling products that are more resilient in economic uncertainty. In the coming months, I will be making an announcement of changes coming Fall 2020.
